Saturday Habit #1: Shower every day

I’m taking a shower every day.

To those who know me, this isn’t surprising. I’m fortunate that it’s not a big deal for me to take care of the activities of daily living. For my entire adult life, I’ve showered just about every day.

But the difference is that I’m now going to shower EVERY day. It’s a simple first step to build a more disciplined life.

Andy Warhol once said, “Either once only, or every day. If you do something once it’s exciting, and if you do it every day it’s exciting. But if you do it, say, twice or just almost every day, it’s not good any more.”

So I’m on a quest to create new habits in the hope of creating discipline that will improve all aspects of my life. I’m calling them Saturday Habits because I’ll start a new one each Saturday. Often these may be pretty small habits. They may not be remarkable in themselves, but instead will be remarkable in their consistency. Each Saturday represents a commitment to execute a new habit without fail; an exercise in discipline. I’ll report on how things go along the way.

Are there habits that you stick to every day? Let me know!
